All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has an eclectically diverse roster of talents, from former WWE Superstars to The Elite, from indie darlings to Joshi standouts. But some of the talents with AEW are veterans of the industry that are being used as much for their knowledge outside the ring as they are in. One of those names is QT Marshall, who has seemingly risen from enhancement talent to a member of Cody‘s Nightmare Family to the new tag team partner of Dustin Rhodes in The Natural Nightmare. It marks a long 16-year ride for the indie veteran from Livingstone, New Jersey.

QT Marshall began his wrestling career at the famous Monster Factory Wrestling School, training under Larry Sharpe in 2004. After working around home, he headed South where he began to work in the Florida indie scene with Pro Wrestling Eklipse (PWE), Full Impact Pro (FIP), American Combat Wrestling (ACW), and Vintage Wrestling. While working in Florida, he also continued his training with WWE Hall of Famers The Dudley Boyz at the Team 3D Academy.

In 2012, he made his debut with Ring of Honor and, while he faced mostly losses that year, he scored a big win over Adam Page that November on ROH television. He continued to work for ROH through 2016 in various forms, including two tag teams – Marshall Law with R.D. Evans and Gifted Punishment with Punishment Martinez (NXT’s Damian Priest). In early 2015, he also worked early shows for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW).

Over the years, he had several enhancement matches with WWE as part of NXT, facing Aiden English (2013), The Ascension (2014), Baron Corbin (2016), and Heavy Machinery (2017). In 2017, he began to work more in Georgia, becoming a regular with Georgia Premier Wrestling (GPW) and ACTION Wrestling. He would also become a trainer at his alma mater, Monster Factory, until opening his own school, One Fall Power Factory, in 2017, where former WCW Legend Glacier (Ray Lloyd) is also a trainer.

In 2019, he joined AEW as a producer and was seen in many early Road To… video series working alongside Cody Rhodes under his real name, Michael Cuellari. But by the fall, the ring boots came calling, and as QT Marshall, he made his AEW debut on AEW DARK October 29, 2019, in a tag team loss alongside Peter Avalon against Dustin Rhodes & Sonny Kiss. By the end of the year, he was tagging with Cody Rhodes in his fight against The Butcher & Blade.

In February of 2020, Marshall was now square in the Nightmare Family and made his tag team debut alongside Dustin Rhodes, defeating Shawn Spears & Peter Avalon. Now branded “The Natural Nightmares”, they would go on to two more victories on AEW Dynamite, over Jon Cruz & Matt Sells on March 18 and The Dark Order‘s #8 & #9 last Wednesday.

It’s been a long road through various Southern indies and appearances with Ring of Honor, but QT Marshall has finally found himself on national cable television in the midst of the Wednesday Night Wars.
