All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has added a new monster to their roster following the signing of “the murderhawk monster” Lance Archer.  Archer was most recently a part of the New Japan Pro Wrestling roster where he was a former IWGP United States Champion and a three-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion as a member of Killer Elite Squad (with Davey Boy Smith Jr.).

The 42-year old debuted all the way back in 2000 and brings 20 years of experience to AEW.  In his career Archer has competed all over the globe for major promotions like NJPW, Pro Wrestling NoahIMPACT! Wrestling (as Lance Rock of the Rock ‘n Rave Infection), WWE (as Vance Archer), and many many more.

Despite his age Lance Archer has aged like fine wine and works with the mobility of men half his age, even pulling out a rope-walk moonsault on occasion.  All of this comes despite the fact he suffered a herniated disc back in 2017, an injury that would require surgery and sidelined him for seven months.  Considering the injury he suffered in his late 30’s it is miraculous that Archer continues to perform at the level he does, especially considering he was one of the MVPs of the 2019 G1 Climax.

Lance Archer is a highly decorated competitor who spent his career mostly as a tag team specialist but in 2019 he showed the world he could succeed as a singles performer.  The big man will add experience and some menace to the AEW roster but unlike other big men, he can keep up in the ring with anyone and will wow first-time watchers with his array of offense.
