Black Label Pro continues to shine month in and month out as one of the premier indie promotions in the Midwest, hailing out of Crown Point, Indiana. They’re returning to WrestleMania Week this April, once again as part of Game Changer Wrestling (GCW)‘s The Collective, with Threat Level Midnight on Friday April 3, 2020 in Ybor City, a suburb of Tampa, Floridia, at The Cuban Club. Their first match announcement was a doozy, as former Major League Wrestling (MLW) World Champion and UFC fighter “Filthy” Tom Lawlor gets set to face wrestling’s most infamous tough guy, Haku. Over the past week or so, BLP has announced more great matches and talent announcements.
Erick Stevens is Heading to WrestleMania Week
As expected, Black Label Pro Heavyweight Champion Erick Stevens will be in Ybor City for WrestleMania Week, assumingly to defend his title. He’s approaching 90-days since he won the title from Kobe Durst this past November, and Stevens has been nothing short of amazing in his comeback tour after a decade away from the sport – he also briefly held the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship. Stevens has declared his one year comeback will end WrestleMania Weekend – will the former Ring of Honor star retire as champion, or will a new face emerge as the top dog in BLP.
Jody Fleisch is Heading to WrestleMania Week
UK legend Jody Fleisch is returning to the US for WrestleMania Week and the veteran of nearly every UK promotion, from RevPro to IPW, PROGRESS to ICW, Frontier Wrestling Alliance (FWA) to World Association of Wrestling (WAW). The 24-year veteran has seen the worst and rise of the British indie scene and is heading to Mania Week to compete for BLP.
Nick Gage vs. Stephan Bonnar
Nick Gage is heading to WrestleMania Week and he’s appearing at BLP Threat Level Midnight where he’s facing a former UFC fighter in Stephan Bonnar. Bonnar, who also competed for Bellator, retired in 2014 with a 15-9 pro MMA record, and his 2013 fight against Forrest Griffin was entered into the fight wing of the UFC Hall of Fame. He made his pro wrestling debut in 2017 with House of Glory and went on to a run with IMPACT Wrestling in late 2019 against Moose.
Violence is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini) vs. Jordynne Grace & Leyla Hirsch
Violence is Forever, the pairing of Kevin Ku and Dominic Garrini who started as Sadkampf, have emerged as one of the top tag teams from the South and have broken out in the Midwest and Northeast as well. The reigning Southern Underground Pro (SUP) Tag Team Champions in Nashville and Pro Wrestling Freedoms Tag Team Champions in Indiana, they’ve proven to be tough competitors to all they’ve faced. At Threat Level Midnight, they face an ad-hoc tandem of two of the toughest pound-for-pound wrestlers in the world in IMPACT Wrestling’s Jordynne Grace and one of 2019’s breakout stars, Leyla Hirsch.
Jeff Cobb vs. Jake Something
The latest announcement is the BLP debut of Ring of Honor and NJPW star Jeff Cobb, who will be facing one of the best big men out of the Midwest in Jake Something. Both men are in their prime and two of the US indies best hosses, so expect nothing less than a hard-hitting affair.
