During the IMPACT Wrestling television tapings in Mexico City on Saturday night, history was made. Jordynne Grace toppled the seemingly unbeatable Taya Valkyrie for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship. Taya had ruled over the division for over a year, her official reign clocking in at 377 days. This is the longest single reign in company history and was the first reign to span one calendar year.

Jordynne Grace had challenged Taya five times in the past and was unsuccessful in wrestling the title from Valkyrie’s grasp then. However, her determination and championship drive would keep her on Taya’s heels. Every time Taya would think she was past Grace, Jordynne would work her way back into the title picture. Despite any interference that John E. Bravo would attempt to run on behalf of his mistress as well. Jordynne Grace would defeat Kiera Hogan and Madison Rayne during the tapings held on Friday night, which would put her back in Valkyrie’s path.

The 23-year-old is no stranger to titles, she’s held seven others in her career thus far. Jordynne Grace is a former PROGRESS, WSW, and PWM Women’s Champion, WSU Spirit Champion, BCP Icons Champion, LCW Vixen’s Champion and BLP Heavyweight Champion. She can now add the Knockouts Championship to her cache and hoist the title high proudly. While Madison Rayne may call herself the Locker Room Leader, the Knockouts Division has a brand new standard-bearer. With Tessa Blanchard now the IMPACT Heavyweight Champion, this is a new era for women in the company.
