John Morrison Returns To WWE

John Morrison

On WWE Backstage, it was announced John Morrison was signed to the company and will be returning soon. The man behind the many last names returns to where it all started for him. Johnny IMPACT, Johhny Nitro, Johnny Mundo, and many more names, is back with WWE.

The man behind the names, John Hennigan began his career back in 2002 with NAW (North American Wrestling) under the name Johnny Onyx, a year later Hennigan debuted on the third season of WWE’s reality series, Tough Enough and won the competition alongside Matt Cappotelli. Hennigan would go on to win several championships with the company and have a successful run with the company.

Perhaps what’s more telling about Hennigan’s career, is the success he achieved outside of WWE. In 2014 Hennigan would debut for the hit show, Lucha Underground where he would be known as Johnny Mundo where he was cast as one of the top names of the show. Later seasons would be built around Mundo’s stable the worldwide underground as he captured all three titles throughout seasons 3 and 4, this lead to a title vs career match with Prince Puma (Ricochet) at Ultima Lucha 4 which Mundo lost.

Hennigan would also make the rounds in Mexico and competing for AAA Lucha Libre where he would ultimately become the AAA Mega Campeon defeating Texano and El Hijo Del Fantasma to win the title. In 2017, Hennigan would make his way back to the states and compete for IMPACT Wrestling under the name Johnny IMPACT.

IMPACT would win the IMPACT Wrestling world championship when he defeated Austin Aries at the company’s biggest pay per view of the year, Bound For Glory back in 2018. IMPACT would have a successful run with the company throughout the next several months and have his final match with the promotion against Rich Swann.

IMPACT has wrestled for other promotions such as PCW Ultra, Blackcraft Wrestling, Qatar Pro Wrestling, House Of Hardcore wrestling and many other promotions in the independent circuit. Hennigan comes back to WWE with incredible experience and what promises to be a fantastic run with the company.
