According to our sources,  Jake Atlas was approached by WWE officials at the PWG Battle Of Los Angeles event which took place last month. PWG Battle Of Los Angeles usually has scouts from some of the other notable organizations on hand. Triple H made the call to Atlas after the contract was issued to him at PWG and Atlas will be reporting to the company soon.

Since BOLA, Jake Atlas has shown up at Ring Of Honor Wrestling (who reportedly wanted to sign him) in a match against Tyler Bateman at the ROH Death Before Dishonor Fallout show. Atlas was last seen at Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) and at PCW ULTRA where he faced opponents such as Jungle Boy (GCW), Ophidian (GCW), and Daga (PCW ULTRA) on Friday night in what has been described as an outstanding match.

Atlas is the current PCW ULTRA Light Heavyweight Champion and the current APW Universal Heavyweight Champion and has also wrestled at the now-defunct Wrestle Circus. He was trained at the Santino Brothers school. Atlas had a WWE Tryout last December.

Atlas first appeared on national television an episode of Celebrity Undercover Boss with Stephanie McMahon, where he received $25,000 from the WWE for a down payment on a house and was made an Ambassador for the WWE. His first assignment was back in July 2018 in Boston, MA where he worked with the company in the local communities for the “Be A Star” Campaign. On the episode of Celebrity Undercover Boss, Atlas publicly came out to tell the world that he is gay, and has represented the LGBT community and has had plenty of support from the pro-wrestling community and from the WWE.

Atlas’ signing comes after a relatively short but impactful career on the U.S. independent scene. He spun his 2017 Southern California Rookie of the Year award into multiple championships and stellar performances for high profile indie promotions like Pro Wrestling Guerilla and Defy Wrestling. … Atlas’ previous connection to WWE likely contributed to his decision to sign with the company. He was previously named a “brand ambassador” for the company after appearing on a WWE-themed episode of Undercover Boss: Celebrity Edition last year. He proclaimed his goal to be “the first openly gay WWE world champion” during the program,” said OutSports. […]
