Revolution Pro Wrestling or RevPro for short is one of the more known British Independents, being responsible for such names as Zack Sabre Jr, Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll and being one of the major partners of New Japan Pro Wrestling, New Japan stars even coming to the country for some events, including having ambitions to expand their own training school somewhere in the United Kingdom (According to some rumors). One of the belts that Rev-Pro Owns is the Revolution Pro Undisputed British Tag Team Champions and they recently changed at their event “Live In Southhampton”
Firstly, a little bit of backstory. These Tag Championships were vacated after the controversy happened with Josh Bodom, which resulted in Josh Bodom being fired from the company and further burning his reputation on many social media posts, including leaving Wrestling as a whole, because of this. Sha Samuels and Josh Bodom vacated the Tag Championships and at the event Live At The Cockpit 46.
They needed to crown brand new champions, which they initialized a tournament to crown it, a small tournament with the tag teams such as The Besties In The World and one of the bigger tag teams Rampage Brown and The Great O-Kharn with Rampage Brown making his official return for the company at that event after not being in the company for over 6 Years. The Besties while being one of the sure favorites got eliminated by Kurtis Chapman & Dan McGee and at an upcoming show, this title match between both of these teams would eventually happen.
Uploaded online from Rev-Pro’s Twitter on a picture from the fantastic photo-maker Beyond Gorilla, New Tag Team Champions were crowned with The Great O-Kharn and Rampage Brown became Rev-Pro Undisputed Tag Team Champions for the first time in their career. What makes this moment even more major is that this is the first time not only Rampage Brown has held championship gold in Rev-Pro, but also The Great O-Kharn to pick up a title for himself as well.
The reason I mentioned the New Japan partnership, in the beginning, is because The Great O-Kharn is a Young Lion from NJPW named Tomoyuki Oka. The reason I only mention this is because this is the first time in his entire career that he has held gold in any company. O-Kharn has been part of the Rev-Pro Roster for the past year as a result of his excursion from The New Japan Dojo and holds a title with the longtime veteran of the British Indie Scene, Rampage Brown.
Rampage Brown who made his debut in 2004 has been at the forefront of title wins in most companies he’s been with, holding The Defiant World Champion two times and being one of the early Progress World Champions. Ever since the unfortunate passing of Defiant Wrestling earlier this year, Rampage Brown was looking for a promotion to really showcase his brutal in-ring ability and frightening style… he finally has that schedule with Rev-Pro and man do we have to say that we’re excited for the future of this tag team.
