Former Over The Top (OTT) Wrestling Women’s and GN Champion, Discovery Wrestling Women’s champion, Insane Championship Wrestling Women’s Champion and current member of STARDOM faction Oedo Tai, Session Moth Martina has officially signed with Ring Of Honor. This news was first reported by Mike Johnson and has been confirmed by our sources. Martina turned down offers from WWE to sign with ROH who are allowing her to continue working in Stardom.
As the party-loving, heavy drinking “Session Moth” Martina has entertained crowds all over Europe with her endearing character fitting in perfectly with the over 18’s BritWres crowds. It was in OTT where Martina had most of her success as she became one of the most popular wrestlers in the entire company as her feud with Katey Harvey defined the early years of OTT’s women’s division.
With such a strong gimmick it was easy for people to put Martina in the box of just being a comedy wrestler, which is her forte, and led to some confusion when it was announced that Martina would be going to Stardom, the premier women’s wrestling promotion in the world.
Thanks to her own hard work and time in Stardom, Martina managed to prove the doubters wrong and in 2019 had emerged as one of the best-unsigned talents in the world. She got the chance to prove this when she went head to head with Meiko Satomura in OTT and didn’t look out of place in the ring with the legend.
In Martina, ROH has got one of the best women’s wrestlers outside of Japan and someone that can not only deliver great matches but has a character that can draw people to her. We once signaled Martina out as one to watch from the indie scene and now she has the chance to show the wrestling world just how good she is.
