Kasey Owens first broke the news via social media that she would be unable to get to Japan for Stardom’s 5 Star Grand Prix. She deleted all mentions of this from social media very quickly leading to speculation that her VISA issues may have been resolved. That was until Stardom officially confirmed her exit on Twitter.
pic.twitter.com/7yb9qFPaL1

Owens was scheduled to be a part of the Red Stars block in her first Japanese tour since 2016. The current TNT and ICW Women’s Champion was all set to have her first major singles run in Japan before her exit.

At Stardom’s August 10th Korakuen Hall show it was announced that AZM would replace Owens in the Red Block. This will be AZM’s first time in the 5 Star GP as younger performers like her often miss the tournament due to school conflicts. This presents a big opportunity for the 16-year old to have high-end singles matches with some of the best in the company including Momo Watanabe, Mayu Iwatani and a rematch with Hazuki.
