After a small jaunt to Tennessee last weekend, Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) returns home to Asbury Park, New Jersey this Friday night for Beg For Mercy. An absolutely otherworldy main event in Nick Gage vs Orange Cassidy, as well as some other first-time match-ups and craziness that only GCW can provide. GCW Beg For Mercy is airing live on Fite.tv this Friday night.

Preview: GCW – Beg for Mercy (7/26/19)

Tony Deppen vs Blake Christian

Rising IWA Mid South star Blake Christian made his GCW debut last week in Nashville at Lights Out and shocked the audience by defeating one of GCW’s toughest monsters in KTB. On Friday, he faces the gatekeeper of GCW and one of the most underrated grapplers in the US indies. Tony Deppen has been tearing it up the past year, in both GCW and CHIKARA, and Christian is in for another fight for his life in Asbury Park.

Grim Reefer vs. Colby Corino vs. Teddy Hart vs. Alex Zayne vs. Jordan Oliver vs. Kikutaro

All out insanity. This match is going to be an absolute mindblower, as it’s full of some of the most innovative wrestlers of the past and present. Teddy Hart has been resetting the rules of what a high flyer can do since the 1990s, and he’s being joined by the latest GCW breakout star in Alex Zayne. Colby Corino and Jordan Oliver are two young stars who gain stock every performance and can defy gravity with the best of them. Grim Reefer has been a hardcore highflyer for 20 years, and a veteran of the NYC/NJ indie scene. And then there’s Kikutaro. While one would never consider him a high flyer, his comedic prowess is legendary and seeing him in a match with this much air is a recipe for something special.

Jake Atlas vs. Jimmy Lloyd

Two emerging stars from two sides of the country. On the West Coast, Jake Atlas has emerged as one of the new “Superstars”, as the reigning PCW ULTRA Lightweight Champion and competing with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). On the East Coast, Jimmy Lloyd has emerged as the new Prince of American Hardcore and has become as reliable as they come in the ring for causing chaos. Two contrasting styles from two hungry young wrestlers.

Matt Tremont vs. SHLAK vs. Eric Ryan vs. G-Raver

This is called a “4-Way Fuckery Fest” and it’s probably the best way to describe the trainwreck of awesomeness that will emerge from a match that puts four hardcore demolition men like Matt Tremont, SHLAK, Eric Ryan and G-Raver together in a four-way. These are some of the most violent men in the American Hardcore scene today and they’re unrelenting styles will be a bloodbath for all.

Marko Stunt vs. Chris Dickinson

Chris Dickinson is an absolute beast in the ring. Heavy hitting, he’s known as one of the aces of Beyond Wrestling, and a former dominance in EVOLVE Wrestling as part of Catch Point. “The Dirty Daddy” is the real deal. On Friday, he’s going to be facing a man (literally) half his size, but six times quicker, in Marko Stunt. Remember the cartoon where Spiderman faced off against Juggernaut? It will probably be something like that. Except without the webs.

Timothy Thatcher vs KTB

While this isn’t Timothy Thatcher‘s GCW debut (he’s appeared at the first two Bloodsport events in battles against Nick Gage and Hideki Suzuki), this is his debut on a regular GCW card. And one of the world’s toughest fighters, best known for his monstrous EVOLVE Championship reign and work in Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) alongside WALTER in Ringkampf, is coming in hot and heavy to face the manbeast known as KTB. This will be a physical contest of two true warriors.

Daisuke Sekimoto vs. Shane Mercer

Photo: GCW

“The Iron Demon” Shane Mercer has been tearing up IWA Mid South since 2008, where he’s a former Heavyweight Champion, but he made his GCW debut this January at 400 Degreez, where he won a 7-man scramble. Since then, he’s proved he belongs, and on Friday he’s facing former 4x Big Japan Wrestling Strong World Heavyweight Champion – and current ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion – Daisuke Sekimoto, who is over in the US for a tour of defiance. A solid test for Mercer to truly prove he deserves to be where he is.

GCW World Championship: Nick Gage (c) vs. Orange Cassidy

Photo: GCW

It’s a match-up no one saw coming. On one side, you have the reigning GCW World Champion Nick Gage, the undisputed King of American Hardcore and one of the most violent men on the planet. On the other, you have Independent Wrestling Champion Orange Cassidy, a man known for his complete lethargy in the ring and reluctance to remove his hands from his jean pockets. But with GCW’s gold on the line, this match-up is sure to prove to be a memorable one, as Gage isn’t the kind of person who will put up with Cassidy’s shenanigans. Who will outsmart – or kill – the other?
