This past Saturday night during the Ring Of Honor TV tapings in a sold out 2300 Arena of 2300 fans. During the tapings, Jay Lethal revealed in a promo how he felt about his loss to Matt Taven at the historic G1 Supercard Of Honor at Madison Square Gardens over WrestleMania weekend. Lethal expressed his disdain for losing and was going to work twice as hard to take back the title from Taven. Following that, Matt Taven soon made his way out to tell Lethal that his time was done being the Ring Of Honor World Champion and that everyone was living in the time of Taven. It was at this time when none other than Motor City Machine Guns member and recently retired performer, Alex Shelley made his return to Ring Of Honor.

Quickly getting to the point, Shelley said he wanted the winner between Taven and Lethal when they go head-to-head at ROH Manhattan Mayhem on July 20th, 2019 at the Manhattan Center’s legendary Hammerstein Ballroom. Shelley has not been in a Ring Of Honor ring since June 2nd, 2019 when he competed in a ROH World Six Man Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Gauntlet featuring Chuckie T, Eli Isom & Kenny King defeating the team of Alex Shelley, Jonathan Gresham & Leon St. Giovanni, Brian Milonas, Silas Young & The Beer City Bruiser, Shane Taylor & The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara) and SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky). Shortly after the match, on July 22nd, 2018 through via his Twitter account, Shelley announced his retirement from the ring. He would be focusing on his studies while in school. With Shelley back in the picture, time can only tell what future holds for the former multi-time tag champ.
