Garza Jr. To Finally Join WWE NXT In April

Almost a year has passed since Garza Jr., and his cousin, Ultimo Ninja (Humberto Carrillo) attempted to sign with WWE. At that particular moment, the signing went well for Ninja, who was signed to NXT. But for Garza, the opposite happened. The leader of La Rebelion Amarilla was dealing with a shoulder injury. Such a problem made Garza Jr. fail the WWE physical test. Major League Wrestling owner, Court Bauer, added more to the story. He told fans that the cousins were scheduled for an MLW taping, but ended up going to WWE meetings.

Although that chance came and went, WWE was open for another tryout. Back in October, Garza Jr. told to a Mexican Magazine the following: “WWE is not used to giving second chances, but I already had a meeting with them and they are going to do a final medical check of the shoulder, there they will decide, if I am recovered to the percentage they want, they will see me working there, but I simply return to Mexico to continue giving it.”

He then added: “The doors are still open with WWE, I do not know where people got that everything was finished, in fact, they are after several Mexicans. The only thing that is stopping me is my injury, they have told me that they are interested. It’s all about the doctor, if he says I can work, I can be able to do the training, I’ll go there “

Garza went on to have a “final match” in his home promotion in Tijuana, The Crash Lucha Libre. He put his hair on the line against ally and LRA member, Bestia 666. The latter won the match, and many thought that Garza was done with Mexican wrestling. But, it turned out that he still was booked for The Crash in January.

The rumors of a WWE signing came again when Garza told fans that the upcoming The Crash show (3/22) would be his last. Now, on the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter and through other sources, it seems that Garza Jr. has signed a contract with WWE. The plan will be to Garza join the newest signees in March, which includes former IMPACT Wrestling star DJZ and former Lucha Underground and EVOLVE Champion, Shane Strickland.

Previously, WWE wanted Garza Jr. to be part of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic. He has been part of Mexico’s AAA and has wrestled for Impact Wrestling. Heralded as a third generation wrestler, Garza Jr., as Andrade “Cien” Almas, knows all too well the wrestling business. Unlike his cousin, Garza Jr. brings tons of experience and great charisma to the ring.
