On Saturday night, the heated feud between the Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) and LAX (Santana & Ortiz) from IMPACT Wrestling hit a new level, but it happened in Chicago with All American Wrestling (AAW). During a triple threat match title defense between AAW Tag Team Champions the Lucha Bros (who won the titles the same night they won the IMPACT titles from LAX on TV), that also included the former AAW tag champions FireFox (AR Fox & Myron Reed), All Elite Wrestling (AEW)’s Young Bucks invaded and cost the Lucha Bros their titles, allowing LAX to score the win.

LAX Defeats Lucha Bros for AAW Tag Titles As Young Bucks Invade

The attack from the Bucks was in retaliation to the Lucha Bros attacking the Young Bucks at the last AEW rally in Las Vegas. So essentially, we got a three brand storyline crossover – AEW invaded AAW to further a storyline in AEW, that also furthered a storyline in both IMPACT and AAW.

The 2019 pro wrestling landscape is wild, and the Multiverse of the Universal Kayfabe is expanding.

  1. […] In the main event of All American Wrestling (AAW)‘s Art of War show in Chicago, Illinois, The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) were defending their AAW Tag Team titles against the teams of LAX (Santana & Ortiz) and FireFox (AR Fox & Myron Reed). But the main event fell victim to the latest All Elite Wrestling (AEW) when the Young Bucks‘ Matt & Nick Jackson stormed the ring and attacked the AAW Champions. The assault cost the Lucha Bros their AAW titles, losing them to IMPACT Wrestling‘s LAX. […]

  2. I just wish they could do the invasion angle on Impact Wrestling. Because when Broken Hardys invaded ROH to spoil Young Bucks, they were schedule to do the same in Impact until fucking Vince fucked it up. So this time it will be great if Young Bucks screw Lucha Bros out of the Impact tag team title on Rebelion so LAX can regain the title and then we have a triple threat match between them at BFG or in AEW. Wrestling is promising a lot these days.

    • I would love that! I really think AEW will be working with IMPACT to a degree, even if it’s talent shares like MLW. I would expect it closer to the debut of AEW’s show in the fall, as it would serve both promotions better. Like maybe at Slammiversary in July. AEW could hype their show, will IMPACT gets a PPV boost. Reportedly the AEW show would be on Tuesday (they trademarked Tuesday Night Dynamite) and they’re looking for a September launch. Narrowing it down to final destination soon.
