On Saturday night, former 5x IMPACT Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne defeated Katie Arquette to win the International Wrestling Cartel (IWC) Women’s Championship in her debut for the Pennsylvania indie promotion. IWC is one of the longest-running indies in Pennsylvania, founded in 2001 at the beginning of the indie boom in the US following the collapse of WCW and ECW. IWC has seen many future stars work there in their formative years, including CM Punk, Kassius Ohno (aka Chris Hero), Christopher Daniels, Colt Cabana, DJ Z, and current WWE Superstar Elias.

The IWC Women’s Championship was founded in 2016 and was first won by All Elite Wrestling (AEW)‘s Britt Baker, who has held it on two occasions and was also held by LuFisto. Katie Arquette won the title last November, ending Baker’s second run at 392 days.

For Madison Rayne, it adds more gold to an already impressive resume that includes the aforementioned five Knockout Championships from her storied career with IMPACT Wrestling. She also previously held the SHIMMER Tag Team titles prior to joining IMPACT, alongside Neveah. Rayne departed IMPACT last year and competed in the WWE Mae Young Classic before signing with Ring of Honor and entering the Women of Honor division.
