According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, New Japan and Ring of Honor tag team Best Friends, featuring Trent Baretta and Chuck Taylor, are finishing up with both companies and will be signing with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). In what appears to be their last match with ROH, they lost to the Lifeblood team of Juice Robinson and David Finlay at ROH Honor Reigns Supreme in mid-January. Both are scheduled to appear at this weekend’s New Japan New Beginnings in US tour, which may be the duo’s final appearances for NJPW.

Originally formed in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) in 2013, the Best Friends only wrestled a handful of times each year as both men had vastly different schedules. Trent was one half of Roppongi Vice in NJPW and was dominating the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team division, while Taylor was working predominantly with PWG and CHIKARA. In 2017, they began to work Ring of Honor together regularly, following the breakup of Roppongi Vice, and by the end of 2017, made their New Japan debut together in the NJPW World Tag League. The duo has worked regularly with both ROH and NJPW for the past year now, but it appears they will not be re-signing with either ROH and NJPW and will be joining their old PWG pals The Young Bucks with AEW instead. According to reports, Trent had verbally agreed to a new deal, which included a push this year, but in the end decided against it to work with The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes and the rest of the AEW roster.
