Women’s Wrestling Revolution (WWR) returns for one last time in 2018 with a tag team edition of Tournament for Tomorrow (TFT). It’s set to go down on Sunday, December 30th at the Electric Haze in Worcester, MA and bell time is 5:00 PM Eastern. WWR is the sister promotion to Beyond Wrestling, who started the TFT concept back in 2012. A tournament needs a prize, right? The winners of this tournament will go on to Beyond’s Heavy Lies the Crown, held on the very next night. There, they will face the team of John Silver and Alex Reynolds, the Beaver Boys.

Now, while this show is named and planned around a tournament, that’s not all there is to this show! There will also be non-tournament action going on, with several big names signed to appear as well. Scheduled for this non-tournament side of things are Alisha Edwards, Kris Statlander, LuFisto, Trixie Tash and Shotzi Blackheart. Kylie Rae is also be making her WWR debut. She’s been heating up the indies in 2018 and shows no signs of slowing down. Kylie will also be challenging the veteran Mercedes Martinez for the Phoenix of RiSE Championship in January.

While the matchmakers have kept the tournament’s opening matches themselves a secret, we do know the teams that are involved. There are eight teams slated for this huge tournament as well as a terrific team in the wings as an alternate if needed. Our first team is the Sea Stars, Ashley Vox and Delmi Exo. They will be teaming together in WWR for the first time in over a year since the last women’s Tournament for Tomorrow. Both women are mainstays for WWR as singles wrestlers. They also team quite regularly for promotions such as CHIKARA, Queens of Combat, Chaotic Wrestling and SHIMMER.

Our next team is Team Adams, represented by Karen Q and Tasha Steelz. These two have teamed several times in the past with a great degree of success. The Chinese-American sensation has had a banner year, appearing for both WWE and ROH in addition to her numerous independent appearances. Steelz also worked for ROH this year in addition to her regular haunts such as House of Glory, Chaotic Wrestling, and Battle Club Pro. Tasha also recently participated in a WWE tryout. This is a tremendous pair of wrestlers, a formidable roadblock for any other team.

Another formidable team set to take part in this tournament is Team Black and Blue. They are Davienne and Vionette. Much in the vain of fellow WWR competitor, Jordynne Grace: they are beauty, they are grace and they will punch you in the face. These bruising beauties are WWR stalwarts, teaming on the regular and sometimes joined by Mistress Belmont. These girls tear it up across the Northeast, leaving bodies in their wake. Whoever ends up in their path is sure to be in for a rough night.

Ruthless Ambition is another long-time team in WWR as well as in general on the independent scene. The team of Maria Manic and Penelope Ford stride into Tournament for Tomorrow arguably as heavy favorites. They haven’t tasted defeat as a team in WWR since 2017 and recently challenged Las Sicarias for the Shine Tag Team Championships. Maria Manic is an imposing and dominating figure in wrestling on her own. Add in the x-factor offerings of the gymnast Bad Girl Penelope and that’s a tall order for anyone to overcome.

The Twisted Sisterz, Holidead, and Thunder Rosa, are making their return to WWR. Their last appearance for the promotion was back in April at the Beyond/WWR supershow, It’s Lit. The current Shine Tag Team Champions are broadening their tag team resume to include ROH, RiSE and Stardom. The Sisterz have also faced the challenge awaiting the tournament winners, the Beaver Boys and came up short. Nothing would be sweeter than to end 2018 by winning the tournament and getting redemption against Beyond Wrestling’s ace tag team.

The final duo that has teamed before is the Bird and the Bee. This is the team of Willow Nightingale and Solo Darling. This is probably the most light-hearted team in terms of personality. Both are bubbly, high energy and fan favorites. They are also a duo of a veteran and a rookie. Solo Darling has been in wrestling for eight years compared to Willow’s three. Don’t let their good nature fool you though, or you might just get stung. They’ve surprised opponents before and could easily do it again.

The first of the new teams is Kimber Lee and Skylar, tentatively dubbed as “Skim” by the latter. Kimber Lee is a wrestler who needs no introduction. She’s been all over the world, from CHIKARA to WWE to Stardom. Skyler is well a “hot scoop” on the independent scene, just two years into her career. She’s a former Chaotic Wrestling Women’s Champion. She was also selected to be part of Team WWR along with Kimber Lee to take on Team Pazuzu at this year’s Americanrana. This match is one you should check out as a primer for their performance at Tournament for Tomorrow.

Our final team is that of Harlow O’Hara and Terra Calaway, dubbed on social media as “GOTHICC”. It’ll be interesting to see how these two strong personalities and wrestlers work together. The Queen of Dinosaurs meets the High Priestess of the Church of Harlow. Each of these women is a powerhouse and when their powers combine, great things could happen. Not necessarily for their opponents though.

As mentioned earlier, we do have an alternate team lined up just in case. They are Sonya Strong and Violette. Sonya is the current House of Glory Women’s Champion and has warred with Violette in the past. It’ll be interesting to see how they work together, should they be called upon. This would be Violette’s debut for WWR should she see action at Tournament for Tomorrow.

WWR’s Tournament for Tomorrow is set to take place on December 30th from the Electric Haze in Worcester, MA. If you can’t make it out, you can watch it streaming live on Powerbomb.TV. Also, be sure to tune in the next night for Beyond Wrestling’s Heavy Lies the Crown. There you will see the winner of this tournament take on the Beaver Boys.
