Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre has a big Friday coming up in their historic Arena Mexico. Their annual Grand Prix tournament will take place, with International stars from Canada, Germany, United States, Japan and Puerto Rico taking on the best of Mexico.

The CMLL team is composed by Mexican favorite Caristico (original Sin Cara), Ultimo Guerrero, Euforia, El Terrible (returning after an injury), Hechicero, Volador Jr., Diamante Azul, Cuatrero & Sanson. While the International team is composed by David Finlay, Gilbert el Boricua (Mesias), Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes, Dark Magic (indie guy trained in Mexico), ROH‘s Flip Gordon, Okamura, Matt Taven & Michael Elgin.

The tournament starts with the Cibernetico format, were each team gets eliminated until two opponents face off for the grand prize. Last year, the finals were Michael Elgin vs. Diamante Azul, with the latter winning the whole tournament.

LA Park, Hijo de LA Park & Mistico vs. El Zorro, Cibernetico & Barbaro Cavernario

The semi-main event feature the rising young star Barbaro Cavernario teaming with the former CMLL World Trios Champion, Ciber the Main Man (Cibernetico) and The Chris (El Zorro). On the other side, always fun and chaotic LA Park. The match is more of an exhibition than anything, with CMLL probably rushing for the main event. Expect Cavernario going haywire in the match against Par,k who is the best attraction in CMLL right now.

El Valiente vs. Gran Guerrero

One third of the CMLL World Trios Champions, Gran Guerrero takes on young risk taker, El Valiente. This is the common lightning match on Friday in Arena Mexico. Gran Guerrero is having a good run as the future of Los Guerreros Laguneros and as a singles prospect.  Valiente will surely show his acrobatic maneuvers, but with have a tough night against Guerrero’s rudo style. Mark a win for the Lagunero in this match.
