Lio Rush Signing With WWE, Heading to NXT

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, one of the indie’s top stars, 22-year old Lio Rush, is heading to Orlando for a medical – once he’s passed the medical, it’s expected that the young superstar will be headed to NXT to begin work with the WWE’s third brand.

A product of Maryland Championship Wrestling, Rush made his debut in 2014 in the tag team Sudden Impact, alongside NXT Superstar Patrick Clark (currently working as The Velveteen Dream). He’s since gone on to become one of the indie circuit’s hottest young stars, working with Ring of Honor, EVOLVE, PWG and CZW, where he recently won the CZW World Heavyweight title (he’s since lost it to Davey Richards).

Expect an official announcement over the next week or so, once Rush has finished his obligatory WWE medical.
