Amidst the backdrop of the announcement that former WWE CEO Linda McMahon had just been appointed the new administrator for the Small Business Administration in US President-Elect Donald Trump‘s White House cabinet, something potentially amazing started on Twitter.

When asked by a fan on Twitter who NXT Superstar Tye Dillinger wanted to face that he hadn’t, he responded as such:

An hour later, The Miz responded to Dillinger’s comment.

And thus it began.

Chances are that it’s just a couple of employees having a bit of fun in character on Twitter, but what if there’s more? What if this is foreshadowing for a potential debut on Smackdown Live for Tye Dillinger? He’s arguably been NXT’s hardest working guy the past year, with solid outings against most of NXT’s top tier talent – Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, Eric Young, Austin Aries, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura. His “10” Chant has not only infected the WWE Universe with the ref’s count out count, but was evident at the recent Ring of Honor Final Battle PPV. It’s not like he’s not primed with momentum right now.

And The Miz has just completed a lengthy feud with Dolph Ziggler that met it’s end this past Sunday at TLC. Over this past summer, The Miz not only delivered one of the most shocking and captivating promos of his career but of the year with his tirade against Daniel Bryan on Talking Smack. He’s become the top male heel on the roster, a true master of the craft psychology wise. And he’s due a new feud.

And professional wrestling has a history of late of using Twitter as the incubator for potential feuds or match-ups. Vader‘s Twitter feud with Will Ospreay this summer over Ospreay’s match with Ricochet in Japan came to life when they met up in England. The Bullet Club and New Day have been masters of the Twitter feud, as has Chuck Taylor (aka Dustin in Evolve).

What do you think? Was this just a random bump in the Twitterverse amongst co-workers having fun or is these the zygote of a potential debut and match-up on Smackdown Live?
